And instantly jump back to Motion at any time for more advanced changes. Publish any parameter to a template, or create rigs that let you control a group of parameters with a simple slider, pop-up menu, or checkbox.

If you set up templates with multiple aspect ratios, Final Cut Pro automatically uses the correct layout based on your footage.

Motion boasts an enormous ecosystem of third-party plug-ins and templates that complement the power of the app. Download tools for enhanced tracking and 3D object creation, or choose from thousands of templates with gorgeous titles, transitions, and effects to use as is or customize to fit your project. Learn more about third-party products. Combine 3D objects, cameras, lights, and emitters with other complex elements, and view your results instantly.

For even more stunning results, add cameras to a scene or combine objects with emitters, replicators, cameras, and more. Add an eye-catching glow to any image, shape, or text element with the Neon Filter. Enhance the effect even more by animating its intensity with keyframes. Or combine the filter with tracking behaviors to make moving objects really shine. Create visual effects in the blink of an eye with Motion on the new Mac Studio.

The media engine on M1 Max and M1 Ultra accelerates ProRes playback and export, freeing up the processing power for intensive tasks like rendering particle systems and adding complex behaviors. Motion features a real-time design engine that lets you see your work immediately, along with a deep set of tools and content for creating and animating complex motion graphics.

Control the timing and position of elements in your animation using intuitive keyframe tools. Use flexible curve interpolation for smooth parameter changes. Draw curves using a freehand tool, or move, stretch, and condense groups of keyframes using the Transform box. Create natural-looking motion without the need for complex calculations using preset behaviors like Gravity, Throw, and Vortex. Use Text behaviors that animate letters, words, or lines across the screen.

Or apply the Overshoot behavior to easily create spring-loaded animations. You can even combine behaviors for more advanced motion animations. Create high-quality animated backgrounds with built-in generators — each with parameters to customize the look and style of the animation. Choose from a collection of standard shapes or unique designs. All generators can be used as bump maps or textures on other objects — including 3D text. Easily create beautiful 2D and 3D titles that you can animate with drag-and-drop behaviors and intuitive text animation tools.

Create text using your favorite fonts and adjust its position, opacity, and rotation. Manipulate vector-based characters with pristine sharpness, and apply Text behaviors to add complex word and character animations easily.

Motion is built on the CoreText engine, which ensures that glyphs, characters, and emoji render correctly every time.

Build 3D titles from scratch, design them with easy-to-use templates, or instantly convert any existing 2D title to 3D. Customize your 3D text with over 90 Apple-designed organic and artificial materials — or create your own — and see your results instantly. You can even choose from a variety of lighting rigs or create depth-of-field effects to give your titles an ultrarealistic look that matches the environment perfectly. Quickly animate text on or off the screen by choosing from more than behaviors including Type On, Blur Out, and Text-on-a-Path, which sets your text in motion on a trajectory that angles, bends, or twists.

You can also create unique animations by moving letters just where you want them. With text generators you can automate tasks that would take hours to complete by hand.

Count up and down in sequence, change text randomly, add a timecode sequence, and more. Use Credit Rolls to set up a scroll in just a few steps — even for long lists of production credits. Import a text file or type the credits directly into a Motion project, then use the Scroll behavior to automatically animate the speed of the credits based on your project length. Just drag and drop to assemble impressive animations, with a choice of more than filters and effects built into Motion.

Then fine-tune your work with precise controls. Use machine learning to automatically detect and track faces or objects within a clip. Attach images, particles, filters, paint strokes, or text to create stunning visual effects and motion graphics. Use realistic particle systems to create effects including smoke and sparkles — or add dazzling details to any animation.

Choose from over particle presets or design your own and see your creations in real time. Or, create stunning geometric patterns in 2D or 3D using replicators. Go to the next level by adding 3D objects to both particle systems and replicators. Choose from over paintbrush presets or design your own using color gradients or QuickTime files. Create pressure-sensitive brushstrokes that paint gradient colors or particle dabs. And SmoothCam eliminates jitters and bumps — so it looks like your footage was shot on a tripod while still retaining camera moves like pans, tilts, and zooms.

Create an accurate chroma key in a single step with the easy drag-and-drop Keying filter. Again thanks!!!! Holger L verified owner — October 19, Getting Started in Motion 5. All lessons are explained in a short and concise way and its easy to understand what is happening.

I will definitely continue using Tutorials from RippleTraining. Delmar P. Mark makes it really easy to grasp the different concepts that make up the Motion user interface. Motion is giving me the ability to design killer titles and text sequences with animations that would have been impossible in FCPX alone.

Thanks for such a great tutorial. Murtada verified owner — September 30, Trond G. When I installed motion a couple of weeks ago, I had no clue what the application was meant to do other than that is was a useful add-on to Final Cut Pro X.

So this training took me from zero to a point where I can experiment and play around on my own in just a few lessons.

Mark obviously knows what he is talking about, and he is also able to explain it in a way that is clear and easy to follow. I really enjoyed this course! Rory E. Mark Spencer did a great job on this series.

Jim H. I love the instruction from Mark and Steve. I have taken many of their video tutorials. I am 70 years old and have used fcp and Motion from the beginning. I was doing basic things with Motion and wanted to step up my game. I recommend Ripple tutorials. Serge verified owner — July 21, I love the possibilities you have with Motion and bought it over night on the App Store.

After opening the software I found out do some study work :. After reviewing some courses I stopped here at Ripple Training. The fact that Steve and Mark are teachers, like me gave me some confident to buy a course. And man, was that a good decision. The course is nice to watch and follow. Everything in easy steps with an easy player to watch online. Thanks Mark, Steve and all the guys and girls of Ripple Training for your courses.

Chris M. I have been away from Motion for a while. I have bought a bunch of other courses and it has made a huge difference in being able to enjoy using Motion and not letting the software get in the way of creativity. Alan verified owner — April 28, A really excellent course that explains the Motion system and how to analyse the built in sample projects and use them to advance your knowledge.

This is the best course I have purchased and I am going to extract a huge amount of information and experience from it.

Massive value for money. Brian K. I just updated my tutorial to the latest version of this — I had the previous tutorial. I feel there are places that following along and building my own project were — easy — but I rushed a spot and messed up a parameter along the way. I realize — I might have to just watch the whole set of tutorials and then go back and revisit — which I can, because I am not tied to a particular class schedule — I can review and revisit at will to get my project to were I need to and learn the steps.

All your training and materials are fantastic. LeRoy G. I have now finished this tutorial and found it to be very helpful. However, as I was watching the tutorial I was able to relate some of the course material that was presented to my own project.

This was a great help. Koenders verified owner — February 21, Terry T. Excellent, the best. Philip B. Well I am retired and have been for a long time. Recently I have started to produce enough videos that I thought I would attempt to learn Motion.

For a 76 year old amateur video producer the process of learning this complex App was almost overwhelming. However I took this course and I am very pleased.

I am already using Motion now and would not have been able to do that without this course. Alan M. I found the pace of the tutorials a little too quick. I accept that we have pause and rewind, and I used those buttons often but perhaps a review of how information is shared for future training is appropriate.

Also highlighting the area being discussed on the screen perhaps could be reviewed as I found that difficult at time. Having said those two negative comments I want to congratulate Ripple Training on the excellence of their courses — this is not the first one we have purchased and your expertise is always helpful. Juddie verified owner — February 14, Steve and Mark are absolute legends!

I bought the course because I was curious and after the first video I bought another 4 courses. They explain every little step and then follow it up with back end information explaining exactly what is happening.

I can also highly recommend their other courses. I have very little experience and I have just put together a small production team making it compulsory that they watch these courses!! Sean P. I second the accolades posted already. Looking at what the artists at MotionVFX are able to do with Motion, for example, it would be great to learn more advanced techniques.

I realize the fundamentals are all here, and incredibly informative already, but I suspect there are some advanced techniques to be discovered much like the level of depth that the guys get into with their FCP tutorials and online content. Tillman D.

I have been learning from Mark Spencer since his earlier books on Motion. These video lessons are clear, concise, and well thought out. After taking this course I feel confident in my ability to go from concept to creation.

Well done Mark. David B. This was an excellent course. I had very little experience with Motion prior to watching. The selection of material was very good; it provided a good understanding of the structure of a Motion project and how filters, behaviors, and the like are utilized.

I highly recommend this if you are either interested in learning how to use Motion, or just curious about what you might be able to do with Motion. Rich T. This is just another in a long list of informative and expertly executed tutorials. Mark has a way of bringing his knowledge to the videos that is informative and easily understood.

Bob B. I just finished the training today and learned a lot from it. I found myself following along in Motion doing the things Mark did in the tutorial. They make pause and rewind buttons for a reason. Geoff H. If you watch Lynda. Waleed A. Mark B. Mark Spencer hits another bulls-eye with this training package. It has been awhile since I needed to create some animated content. But I am glad this came along because it really helps me get re-acquainted with Motion.

What is cool is Mark shows how he uses the interface, giving away some of his secret and favorite shortcuts. Its nice to be in the presence of a master. I like the learning project that dives into masking, text behaviors, shapes, color grading, and exposing the depth of the Motion library. If you have been away from Motion for awhile, this is a great refresher course. Your email address will not be published.
