Maybe im wrong but do you use the “hybernate” mode? Also maybe try to “log off” before you shut down the pc and see if it still happens. We had some weired issues with hybernate in the company regarding that. EminentX, no good. Still logged in under my account as well when I reboot and logged into my kids account.

Having the account remain logged in when shut down became the “default” behaviour a few versions ago. As for Blizzard accepting a new login and dropping the existing one, I guess that’s what separate accounts are for. They could probably do something like Microsoft does with RDP where the currently logged in user gets a warning and X seconds to respond BUT, that probably wouldn’t go over well with gamers who went to their friend’s place and forgot they were still logged in at home.
