Adding books by author and title:. Windows v More Windows updates. April 30, Your “Collectorz” program for my books is “excellent”. Keep up the good work!! April 25, I have really enjoyed the use of your products over the years.

The Books and Comics in particular made cataloging my collections a whole lot easier to finish and sort. It was really nice that I was able to add most items without having to enter each piece of data separately, like some of the other software out there. The use of a barcode reader just made it that much faster. I still had to manually input a fairly large number of books as they were printed before the barcode system came into being, but even that, for the most part, was reasonably easy to do by using the ISBN.

A bit tougher to enter the ones without any ISBN listed, but there the search by title and author made things doable. April 22, I also wanted to take a moment to thank you for creating the Book Collector software. I have an extremely large book collection that I need to downsize, and I was hoping to find a tool that would allow me to easily catalog my books so I could determine which ones to sell, which ones to bring to the used bookstore, and which ones to keep.

I also wanted to capture other details about my books. I discovered your website by pure chance through a Google search, and I am so happy I did since your software does everything I wanted to do and more! I having been working with data for 35 years and find that most tools lack the functionality that users would like, but that is not the case with Book Collector. It is very intuitive and user-friendly, and I have been able to figure out how to do something without looking at the manual. With the app synchronization, this work is very easy.

Thanks again for the wonderful resources you have created. USA on Book Collector. January 26, Thank you for a wonderful program by the way; it was good when I bought it a few years ago and just keeps getting better and better I just need to use it more often.

January 24, I continue to be very pleased with your Book Collector system – it is unquestionably in my opinion the number 1 application in its category, and the support I have received on the few occasions I’ve required it has been first class; I never hesitate to recommend it to friends though of course I can never guarantee they will follow my advice!

By the bull that I killed, am I to stand nosing into your dog’s den for my fair dues? It is I, Shere Khan, who speak! Mother Wolf shook herself clear of the cubs and sprang forward, her eyes, like two green moons in the darkness, facing the blazing eyes of Shere Khan. The man’s cub is mine, Lungri—mine to me! He shall not be killed. He shall live to run with the Pack and to hunt with the Pack; and in the end, look you, hunter of little naked cubs—frog-eater—fish-killer—he shall hunt thee!

Now get hence, or by the Sambhur that I killed I eat no starved cattle , back thou goest to thy mother, burned beast of the jungle, lamer than ever thou camest into the world! He had almost forgotten the days when he won Mother Wolf in fair fight from five other wolves, when she ran in the Pack and was not called The Demon for compliment’s sake.

Shere Khan might have faced Father Wolf, but he could not stand up against Mother Wolf, for he knew that where he was she had all the advantage of the ground, and would fight to the death. So he backed out of the cave-mouth growling, and when he was clear he shouted: “Each dog barks in his own yard!

We will see what the Pack will say to this fostering of man-cubs. The cub is mine, and to my teeth he will come in the end, O bush-tailed thieves!

The cub must be shown to the Pack. Wilt thou still keep him, Mother? Look, he has pushed one of my babes to one side already. And that lame butcher would have killed him and would have run off to the Waingunga while the villagers here hunted through all our lairs in revenge! Keep him? Assuredly I will keep him. Lie still, little frog. O thou Mowgli—for Mowgli the Frog I will call thee—the time will come when thou wilt hunt Shere Khan as he has hunted thee. The Law of the Jungle lays down very clearly that any wolf may, when he marries, withdraw from the Pack he belongs to; but as soon as his cubs are old enough to stand on their feet he must bring them to the Pack Council, which is generally held once a month at full moon, in order that the other wolves may identify them.

After that inspection the cubs are free to run where they please, and until they have killed their first buck no excuse is accepted if a grown wolf of the Pack kills one of them. The punishment is death where the murderer can be found; and if you think for a minute you will see that this must be so.

Father Wolf waited till his cubs could run a little, and then on the night of the Pack Meeting took them and Mowgli and Mother Wolf to the Council Rock—a hilltop covered with stones and boulders where a hundred wolves could hide.

Akela, the great gray Lone Wolf, who led all the Pack by strength and cunning, lay out at full length on his rock, and below him sat forty or more wolves of every size and color, from badger-colored veterans who could handle a buck alone, to young black three-year-olds who thought they could. The Lone Wolf had led them for a year now. He had fallen twice into a wolf-trap in his youth, and once he had been beaten and left for dead; so he knew the manners and customs of men.

There was very little talking at the rock. The cubs tumbled over each other in the center of the circle where their mothers and fathers sat, and now and again a senior wolf would go quietly up to a cub, look at him carefully, and return to his place on noiseless feet.

Akela from his rock would cry: “Ye know the Law—ye know the Law. Look well, O Wolves! Akela never raised his head from his paws, but went on with the monotonous cry: “Look well!

Give him to me. What have the Free People to do with a man’s cub? What have the Free People to do with the orders of any save the Free People? Look well! Then the only other creature who is allowed at the Pack Council—Baloo, the sleepy brown bear who teaches the wolf cubs the Law of the Jungle: old Baloo, who can come and go where he pleases because he eats only nuts and roots and honey—rose up on his hind quarters and grunted.

There is no harm in a man’s cub. I have no gift of words, but I speak the truth. Let him run with the Pack, and be entered with the others. I myself will teach him.

Vibrant digital vignettes display Mowgli not only surviving but thriving in a wild setting. Moving on to Mowgli’s backstory, readers are introduced to villain Shere Khan. Through the tiger’s dialogue, readers learn that Mowgli was abandoned in the forest by his parents, and can safely assume that Shere Khan means to harm him-though it is merely evidenced by the way the tiger roars his claims to the child and not explicitly stated in text. Fortunately, Mother and Father Wolf leap to Mowgli’s defense and offer him love and protection as adoptive parents.

As a young boy, Mowgli is safe and happy in his jungle home, but as he grows, the animals who vowed to protect him age and younger animals rise up to take leadership of the pack. The younger animals are vulnerable to Shere Khan’s bad intentions, which puts Mowgli in a position where he must prove himself at a special pack meeting. This retelling is a great beginner version for young listeners as the lush beauty and exciting activities one can enjoy only in the wild are highlighted over the more mature elements of the story, such as abandonment and Shere Khan’s plans to kill the child.

The dynamic digital cartoon artwork supports this by depicting the jungle animals with large, expressive eyes and soft lines that take the bite out of fearsome features like claws and sharp teeth. No redistribution permitted. In 18 rich watercolor paintings, Pinkney captures the sheer drama of the eight Mowgli stories and of the well-loved “Rikki-tikki-tavi. Printed on heavy, coated stock, with wide floral borders adding further notes of luxury, these three complete tales from Kipling’s classic, with attendant verses, get both sumptuous packaging and a generous helping of small, finely detailed illustrations.

This treatment not only captures the action and exotic locales, but, most expressively, the power and beauty of the wolves, Bagheera, Balloo and the other animals among whom young Mowgli is raised.

As always, Kipling’s measured prose and poetry is a treat to read alone or, especially, aloud; here the story of Mowgli’s education in the Law of the Jungle, his first try at living among humankind, his kidnapping by the Monkey People, and his triumph over the tiger Shere Khan will keep young audiences rapt.

An ideal replacement for the edition of these tales illustrated by Inga Moore , and other edited versions. Stage, screen and radio actor Madhav Sharma gives Rudyard Kipling’s lively, adventurous tales of Mowgli, child of the Indian jungle, a mesmerizing reading. There are numerous audio productions of Kipling’s stories, but no reader does a better job giving voice to Mowgli’s friends and foes Baloo, the bear; Bagheera, the black panther; Kaa, the rock python; and Shere Khan, the tiger and re-creating the atmosphere of the Indian jungle setting through thoughtful phrasing and dramatic pacing.

The touch of an Indian accent in Sharma’s voice is a plus. The only disappointment is that this is an abridgment. Read more. Customer reviews.

So the formatting is terrible. Pages break on full paragraphs ending up with huge amounts of whitespace everywhere that makes the reading slightly clunky. Chapters, on the other hand, do not break. It’s weird. It’s like this was an e-book converted into a poor print.

Additionally, this only at least half of the Jungle Books collection. I would highly recommend you look for a version with the second half of these stories. For example I found a copy of “The Jungle Books” published by Penguin Classics in that was immensely superior to this version. This book was released July 1, and I pre-ordered without reviews as none were available. I was surprised to find reviews on this book right after Amazon received it in mid-July, My review is for “this specific book.

Not acceptable! This specific book, released July 1, , is abridged with illustrations that can help a child understand how a boy could grow up with animals in the wild. Well written story. Definitely for ages 5 and up. I will give it to my grandson, but feel I cannot give it to my granddaughters because it has various illustrations of boy nudity from the back.

I was a victim of the Amazon Practice of putting many products under the same product description and with the same pool of reviews. This is good for sells of crappy products, as it makes it appear that many people are purchasing the product and additionally averages up the apparent review rating. It would have been a much higher quality experience to download this public domain set of stories from the Internet and show them to my children on an iPad.

This is not that book. I can hardly believe that someone allowed this to be published without even the smallest semblance of attention being given to format. I have included a couple of photos to give an idea of what to expect.

Images in this review. Ok – this reads like something that someone put through an electronic translation software and then never bothered to proof-read. That is why he has only killed livestock. Now the villagers of the Waingunga are irritated with him, and he has come right here to make our villagers indignant. They will scour the jungle for him even as he is an extended manner away, and we and our children should run even as the grass is prepared alight.
